[ Sweet Rain 死神の精度 ] The Accuracy of Death on Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

「君は死ぬことについてどう思う?」 | “What do you think of death?”

This question had never raised so much appreciation about Life as ironically it was being asked by a Shinigami [ 死神, God of Death, or to fellow Pratchett-ians .. DEATH ]

And yes I finally get to see it last night! <3

The Accuracy of Death follows the story of one of the many Shinigami/Grim Reapers at work. The adorably clueless and ultra gorgeous if I may add Chiba is followed by his superior in the form of a black dog into the human’s world. Chiba is to observe human who will be faced with unexpected death cases for seven days so he can pass the final judgment whether he/she is to be labelled “Proceed” – to die or “Passed Over” – to live until death claims them again since “Everyone will die someday anyway”.

Chiba himself always wondered why it rained everytime he’s on assignment and wondered how exactly a clear blue sky looks like. Having the ‘But oh well!’-attitude to human world’s quirks and problems in general, he goes on ahead doing his job while taking the time to indulge in his favourite pastime; humanity’s greatest invention – music.

He’s not slacking off on his job. Really.

Anyone who got the title name reference gets an e-cookie :D

Last weekend was an awesome food filled weekend! Had a road trip with most of the gang to Ipoh to have an early birthday meet up with our dearest long lost Ping Pong on Saturday <3 We had a good 12 hours filled of GOOD Ipoh food. Ipoh food pictures up later since I have to shift through my clunky camera.

As for Sunday … Spent the afternoon at Booya’s playing Rock Band XDD I am so n00b it hurts =.= Also, Disgaea 3 is so totally out of whack but completely adorable. WAAAAAAAANTTTSSSSS T__T *needs a PS3*

Later in the evening, whiterabbit and me discovered that Satsuma Shabu-shabu is closed for good :( We were really crushed as it was our favorite hang out place to sit and eat. Looking for other alternative, we decided on Winter Warmers since the Onion mentioned she missed this place earlier. whiterabbit herself hadn’t the chance to try it so it was a go.

The pretty cups <3

The pretty cups <3 And the tablecloth matches the cups XDD

Personally I’d been here several times and I’m still charmed by the prettiness and overall atmosphere of the place. We ordered cheese baked items as main meal and got a pot of Strawberry Cocktail Tea to share. I am used to ordering Black Tea there but both whiterabbit and I didn’t think it was a good idea to take anything caffeine so late into the night XD;; It was a good choice on our part because the tea was really really nice <3

Take Me Back Tuesday on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Tuesday Tunes: Week 49 : You can tell I’m bored and procrastinatey ToT

You’ve seen them live:

Siam Shade, L’Arc~en~Ciel, Mayday, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Jacky Cheung, Michel Guan, … err… My Chemical Romance please don’t judge me. A number of other artistes that ended up in some collaboration fund raising concert too.

The best artist you’ve seen perform live and the worst:

Best : Siam Shade! BEST CONCERT EVER. I missed them from the moment the last song ended already ;__;

Worst : This bugger here. Granted, it’s a free concert organised by a local high school for their kids’ graduation. And they actually went ahead and invited a honest-to-goodness actual musician from across the ocean. In my hick town, yeah. But I had never seen a display of showmanship SO SHODDY and unprofessional I wanted to fling something rotten onto the stage.

So what if the hall is a cramp school-hall? And your audiences are students who didn’t had to pay for the entrance tickets? You AGREED to perform to begin with. No one forced a gun at your stupid big head. Plus, you were PAID by the school-board. Way to be a jackass. Pbbbtt.

The concert with the worst audience:

Mayday’s in Genting earlier this year. Though it’s majorly the management fault. But dudeeee… have some spine you people at the central front seats!

Although I generally hated any concerts that have the audiences right at the front who DOESN’T REACT nor do jack during the concert. Most of them probably get VIP passes from sponsor companies and thus, not a fan. I kinda feel bad for the musicians ^^;;

The most expensive concert and the least expensive:

Most expensive will have to be Siam Shade I supposed. Granted, the tickets aren’t that bad ( about RM200+? ). But I had to travel to Tokyo for them.

Close in second is L’Arc~en~Ciel @ Seoul. Again, tickets aren’t expensive; plane ticket to Seoul IS. Ticket admission-wise is still L’Arc~en~Ciel though. L7 Tour @ Hong Kong. Got the HKD900+ ones, so they were like RM450++

Least expensive ones are the collaboration street concert I went with various Chinese musicians/bands. FREE TICKETS FTW! 8D

I’m really Wordpress impaired T_T on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Wow I didn’t realised I’d some sort of stupid comment posting rules turned on that won’t let anyone who haven’t commented previously on my site get their comment posted O_o;; WTF ORZ

Thanks Joanne for alerting me on this T__T And sorry for whoever who had to go through that WTF-kery prior >.> There was no notification nor comment moderations to look through, which is damned weird O.o Ughh..

Uhmm.. sorry for being stupid? 8D;;; Have a puppy picture :D

Also, my LJ syndication for this isn’t working at the moment too. *headdesk* The new version of Wordpress I’d put away from updating for months is proving to be a PAAAAAAAIN. Don’t even let me start on having it screwed up ANY posts of mine that is written in East Asian encoding ORZ

First Mooncake for 2008? 8D on Thursday, September 11th, 2008

This is all kind of sad. I’m a Chinese. I’m supposed to celebrate Mooncake Festival/Mid Autumn Festival in the most gluttonous ways possible with all the wonderful variety of mooncakes popping out like mushrooms after the rain.

Apparently I forgot about the festivity totally until the alarm bell sets off last weekend ORZ Mid Autumn Festival is this coming Sunday. I have yet to buy my close relatives any mooncakes for gifts. And WORSE, I have yet to eat a single mooncake myself @A@;;;

But! The problems were finally remedied.

The first mooncake I officially had was this. The Häagen-Dazs® Chocolate Mooncake <3 And it wasn't a even PROPER mooncake :P It's ice-cream with sorbet filling to imitate the usual one -yolk-inside-mooncake look XDD

First official mooncake eaten for 2008? 8D

But am I complaining? NO WAI XD I’d got my mooncake AND ice-cream fix at one go \:D/ JOY

Thank you Booya for treating me and Jive to this wonderful mooncake! ( Which I’d eyed for YEARS but it was expensive to be eaten alone D: Gift? HELL NO YOU THINK I WANNA GIVE THESE AWAY AS FESTIVE GIFTS? Mine! I tell you! MINEEEE! )

PS : I’d got some of these as festive gifts though :3 So pretty, aren’t they? I just hope my aunts and what not won’t kill me for passing it to them so late ^^;;;
