So we rushed over to Yuen Buffet Restaurant right after Comic Fiesta ‘07. For once, I do know the way there and did not misdirect anyone into taking wrong turns and what not. On the way there, I was mentally preparing my friends into one of the major attraction of the restaurant we were headed to which I dubbed “The Barbarous Chicken Wings War”
And I was NOT exaggerating when I relate to them how chaotic it can be when the regular roast chicken wing made its way to the buffet table full with vultures hungry people/people not really hungry but is in for the fun of fighting over food anyway. Well, those in the car doesn’t quite believe me anyway; until the moment when we were seated down at the table by the windows which is conveniently next to the chicken wings table hohoo ( Labbit. KS and Joanne were already seated — and I happily noted that a brave soul had got us the roasted chicken wings <3 ).
Oh well, the first timer of the buffet restaurant did managed to see exactly how true are my action-horror tale is soon after. Repeatedly, say .. in a span of many 20 minutes in between. For the ENTIRE. NIGHT. >:D
Anyway, we were not even an hour into tucking in the food there when the lights all went out. It took a while to comprehend that yes, it is true. We’re having a black-out in a full-house crowded STEAMBOAT restaurant. And we were all stuck in a rather badly ventilated floor with FIRE on our table and hot soup to be served. But it won’t really matter how good were the soup, cuz simply, as the night rolled on, we won’t even be able to see our food!
That was my first experience of having steamboat in an area filled with sweating people eating steamboat and it doesn’t help that both Hanie and I were dressed rather thickly because we foresaw that it will be bloody cold throughout the whole Comic Fiesta stint T__T Yes, we never did foresee something like THIS though.
