This had been an awesome summer for movies for me. Not that there’s summer here in Malaysia. No wait. Rather, I think we have summer all year round, with crazy rain every other day when it’s not brain baking hot. Anyway, I digress. I’m an avid cinema goer. I’m a huge mainstream movie addict and I really can’t resist the summer movies call. So here I am with a run down of the ones I’d waited for and watched. Rating are based on my own personal preferences and thoughts of course
No one says I will like the movies you like anyway
So, onwards! May releases!

Summer movies officially started for me with Iron Man. And I was so sick of all the dregs ( Forbidden Kingdom OH GOD, someone burn it now now NOW ) we’d got in the local cinema before this shows up. And to think I nearly didn’t wanna watch it because “Err wait, another Superhero movie?” =”=;; Glad my pals convinced me otherwise
I’m no fan of western comics so I know jack about the characters but I adored it immensely. It blends fun and action seamlessly making sure that even people that had no idea previously who the hell is Tony Stark [ read : ME ] can ease into the story straight on. Plus, Robert Downey Junior is really really charming as that asshole genius.

Mind blowing visuals. Shamelessly full of cheese. Is epicly high on crack you wished you had some during the movie as the colourful visuals were directly injected straight into your brain. But good gawd this was pure fun. A lot of people I know hated it but I had tremendous fun as soon as I switch off the logic department in my brain ( which is about 10 minutes after the movie started ). And then, bee-hives projectiles weapons, gravity-defying cars, neck breaking roller coasters of high speed races immediately turn into something full of awesome and win \:D/
I am a huge fan of the Cyber Formula Saga anime series when I was in school and Speed Racer was right up on the alley of everything I love about that. The crazy races made me gripped my seat thinking how awesome it’ll be if they’re available as unlockeable tracks in Mario Kart and I unconsciously wanted to sing that stupid Rainbow Road song the first time I saw Speed races ( har har ) in the movie.

People, I have a confession. I want to watch this purely because Ben Barnes is in it. And it was still a bloody good reason to actually watch it after the snore-fest that was its’ predecessor Narnia : The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The first movie was a bore. So I really didn’t have much high expectation for this one except for the very idea that I can see young!Dunstan Thorne from Stardust here again
Prince Caspian surprised me and my cynical mates and we were all wonderfully surprised at how fun it turned out to be. Not an instant classic or OMG!LoTR of course, but it’s a good fun fantasy lite movie to tune in to
Edmund is totally kickass this time around, and matches my thoughts about the characters when I first read the books pretty well.
And of course, Ben Barnes is hot. As expected, awesomely hot ![]()

A disappointment balanced out by the sheer sense of nostalgia. The first time I caught the trailer I felt my eyes tearing up the moment THE EXTREMELY AWESOME THEME MUSIC started playing. The first half of the movie was fun as how I think an Indy movie should be but as soon as the quest turns into an alien-chase worthy of X-Files? It went downhill from there for me. To quote a friend, George Lucas should stay the hell away from the production AND the script writing >.>
Seriously, no crazy alien civilisation please. You can leave those for Agent Mulder and Agent Scully A lost human civilisation or search for strange artifact would had done beloved Indy the movie justice.
I think that covered all the May released I’d watched. It just makes me wonder if I’m determine enough to do the full set all the way til The Dark Knight ( which I obviously loved and wanted to marry ) <3 Uhh ... til then!
PS : I was stupid enough to delete a few comments in my previous posts T__T Sorry for those whom I deleted but my comments box was spammed by a bunch of ads and I kinda… didn’t .. check properly before I mark all and marked as spam T__T SORRY!

To be honest with, I seriously think Babylon AD is way worst than the super bad Forbidden Kingdom. At least Forbidden Kingdom have nice scenery to look at.
And yes, once again… good thing no free. Free things no good!

Well I’d got Wall-E free PREVIEW screening tickets before they released it here so it was all good XDD I seriously have no idea WTF Babylon AD is all about.
As for Forbidden Kingdom, I just have a horrible hatred for it because it destroys some movie genres that I hold quite close to heart XD
