The things that happened on a Sunday morning on Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

So I’d got a call from my hometown friend - Agatha, earlier after I finished breakfast with my family in my hometown:

Agatha : Hey! You awake? Wanna go play badminton?
Me : I’m definitely awake. Sure! :DDD
Agatha : Awesome! I’ll get Jen to pick you up then. He knows where you stay right?
Me : I’ll kick his arse if he doesn’t know ( since we’d been classmate for so damned long )
Agatha : I’ll see you later then. The court is booked for 11 o’clock but we’re meeting for breakfast first in .. uhhhh 15 minutes.
Me : No problem XD

A few minutes later; the phone rang again :

Jen : Hey you awake?
Me : DUHHHHH
Jen : You know how to do sports? I mean, you’re like small and … yanno.. TINY
Me : STFU! D:< I'll murder you later when I see you!
Jen : LOL. So well, you still stay in Pelangi right?

*DING DING DING!!!* ( bells of warning )

Me : … err … you guys in KL now?
Jen : Yeah…?
Me : DUDE I’M IN HOMETOWN THIS WEEKEND LOLOLOL
Jen : ……
Jen : =_= Did you and Agatha even TALKED about this?!
Me : We did but… we forgot to ask each other where we are ? XD;;
Jen : You sure you’re totally awake? Oy…
Me : LOLOLOLOLOLOL Oh gawd sorry, I’ll call Agatha to let her know HAHAHAHAHHAHA
Jen : Idiots >_>
Me : AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA *gasps* AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

And the above two conversation took place in my Dad’s car. With the rest of my family in it. They all gave me a “……” look XD;; Although not entirely surprised that I’m THAT hopelessly blur by now, this kinda just hiked it up another notch.

XDDDDD

Okay damnit, I should never assume that when my hometown friends call me nowadays, they’re IN my hometown XD;; Also errr.. yeah my usual friendly conversation with Jen is pretty much like that. Since we knew each other when we were 14. Some thing never seemed to change even after all these years

OHAY I’m still alive on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Wow. Thank you Jeff for reminding me that I’d been letting this place to collect dusts. Those who don’t know me IRL might had thought I’d disappeared in Guangzhou XDD ( Guangzhou was EXCELLENT, and I really fell in love with the food there I almost wished I didn’t have to come back )

Photo taken when I was walking towards my Grand Uncle’s house

Seriously, the food. It’s AMAZING aaaaaaaa ( also, my relatives there really indulged us ;A; And I get to eat roast goose nearly everyday *lovessssss* Best thing since sliced bread? Possibly best thing even before bread was invented ♥ )

Also, don’t ask me about the various unidentifiable animal parts that I’d eaten. Anyway, it felt like a thousand and one things had happened since I got back from the trip and I’d been too lazy to write. Namely :

Catching up with work in the office *headdesk* Is not really good especially since I’d been away on a fun week-long holiday.

Fion and Darren’s wedding. They’re my hometown schoolmates and I was part of the sister entourage. Much lulz ensued when the brother entourage were pretty much pwned upside down by the girls. Also, meeting up with friends I had not seen in YEARS was so strange and yet so heart warming ;A; Plus it’s hilarious to see your ex-classmates whom you’d known for so many years drunk XD

Dad’s birthday! Happy 50th birthday this year, Dad! ( We went out for dinner and had a small celebration. His god-son brought cake ) Sorry I spent like most of the time at home playing Gundam 00 : Gundam Meisters with lil’ brother and not doing much else ^^;;

Mel and Jijoe’s wedding! This is the first Malay wedding I’d ever attended. The atmosphere was wildly different from the rowdy Chinese weddings I’d attended so far XD Congrats to both of you!

Is still playing Hakuouki like the fangirl I am. Only now I can distract myself combo chaining in Gundam 00 when I feel particularly destructive ( the combo chaining was funnn albeit kinda stressful ). Toudou Heisuke full CGs GET! <3 Two.. more... characters to go..

I’d got a bunch of stuff over last weekend. My VAMPS’ Birthday tour pamphlet from Azuzora ( yaaaay thanks! ), chocolates from whiterabbit who got it from Singapore and ELIZABETH’S PLUSHIE from Jeff XDDD

Watched a bunch of movies in the cinema over the few weeks. Hana Yori Dango Final ( it’s light weight fun but it ended up booooooooooring because it’s TOO DAMNED LONG. And not enough Rui and Naohito Fujiki ;A; ), Tropics Thunder ( LOVED IT XDDD It’s so sad that Malaysian cinema are so behind with these releases :\ ) and Quantum of Solace ( WTF. I hate the title sequence and song. But the movie was pretty entertaining )

Penang trip with my ex-colleagues over the weekend. Awesome AWESOME fun food filled short trip! Will hopefully post pictures later? 8D;;

I may be the slowest j-rock fan in this part of the world but I’d just discovered that X-Japan will be having a concert in Bangkok on 31st January! BANGKOK, THAILAND! WE’RE PRACTICALLY NEIGHBOURS!!! is totally plotting and saving money to haul my ass over there already

Sam’s coming back to Malaysia this week! I missed her so much and I hope we’ll both find time to hang out before she has to fly back to Australia

Coincidentally, today is November 18th. Marking a full year since I cheered, laughed and cried at beloved Siam Shade’s reunion concert in Japan last year. Time really does fly ;A;

Also, I’d finally sorted through my Guangzhou photos folder. I’m probably too lazy to write about it in details, so expect photo-log to kill your bandwidth? 8Dv

One Blank Wall on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Hmmm… there had been much going on since my last post but I can never really work it out in proper post. Plus, they’re mostly fandom related items that i deemed will be too spastastic to be put in it’s own post here ( Ace Attorney : Apollo Justice,ときめきメモリアル Girl’s Side 2nd Season, Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core — noticed a trend here? 8D ) and Gundam 00 ( which rocks to the next world and back again damnit! Now I’ll have to wait 6 months for the second season ORZ )

This week itself wasn’t half as fun nor gaming-centric as it is so horrendously hectic in all directions imaginable.

The good news is, I’d just resigned from my company 8D I’ll be an official bum again in near future. Wha-hoo. Not. Oh well.

The better news is, despite sending me into a profanity frenzy for the past six hours on Tuesday dialing long distance to Hong Kong, I’d managed to get access to this! 8DDD

I had been emo-ing about my stolen Playstation2 ( house got broken into. AGAIN ) since two months ago lamenting over my lost console ( old, but so much good and frustrating memories ;3; ) and above all, my lost youth *coughs* Memory Cards ( ALLLL MY GAWDDAMNED DATA!!! THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PRECIOUS GAMING HOURS!!! *headdesk* )

AHEM.

Anyway, yeah. There’ll be many instances over the month when I’ll be happily talking about games with friends here and there and suddenly the black cloud of gloom will start to rain when I remembered ..

Intermission : Newsflash on flash-flood in… on Thursday, December 13th, 2007

A little break from the travelogue ( which I had been procrastinating .. and yet I definitely need to work it til Day 05 — simply for a long belated Siam Shade concert report >_> )

My mum called me last night to inform me that my hometown is flooded. It had been raining non-stop for the past two weeks and the water level had rose drastically :\

I’d only experienced actual flood only once when I was in Primary School. My primary school is located right next to the long and treacherous Pahang River so having panic over water level rising is kinda the norm ( our school field is right next to it ) and it made the students happy because school might just closed for the week until the water subside.

The only major flood I’d heard was from my GrandAunt when she tells stories of old from time long forgotten in a galaxy far far away about the time when they practically had to be rescued via motorboats from the flood.

I’m thankful that it’s not even half as serious as my Grandaunt’s story but it’s still pretty depressing to see and recognise landmarks and places that you know being under muddy water like this:

Flood in Mentakab
This is the ‘main’ part of the town actually. There’s the major traffic junction just a bit ahead. Yeah my hometown is really tiny and uhhhh …. not pretty XD;;

Flood in Mentakab Flood in Mentakab Flood in Mentakab

Pictures from a dear friend and ex-classmate who’s in Mentakab. More pictures from this forum ( but is in Chinese though you can see the pictures )

What truly worries me is that my Mum said water supply had been cut off ( and will probably continues to be so for at least three days ) and there’s not much food around >_>; I hope everyone is alright at home.

ETA @ 5:00p.m. : Apparently the main roads are all under water too O_o; I can’t even go home if I wanted to since it’s all blocked. There’s no water. Nor fresh meat/vegetable. And the departmental stores are all stripped clean of their instant noodles and canned food.

… it’s another embuggerance alright >_>

ETA 02 @ 8:00p.m. : My Mum just called to inform me that TNB had announced that they’ll cut off electricity for the town tonight. The water level had reached the generator area ( some my ex classmates and families stay there too! >_< )

So there's no water and no electricity. The petrol stations all over are empty too because they can't refuel and most people went off to pump it dry already for emergency purposes. Not like they can leave the town either because the roads towards the two major highways to reach the town are under water.

And the biggest slap in the face? State water authority is forced to empty the dam soon. Yes. A DAM because it faces the risk of breaking from the inside due to the water pressure and level. Guess where the water will flow to? I can’t imagine an extra several feet of fast moving water in my hometown now. The newly updated pictures from the forum I posted above are already gnawing at me.

I hate to be so far away from my family when they’re facing something like this. I can’t even find proper word to describe my fear of flood now because I thought my Mum was joking about it last night. I grew up in the town for a good 18 years and I’d never seen anything like this. Massive flood used to be something that happens to OTHER people on newspaper to this oblivious town-kid.

I’m still holding on hoping that it’s something my friends and family blew up the proportion when they tell me of the news because yanno, Mentakab is so DAMNED BORING. I don’t know what’s worse; me being too far away and helpless and worried here or my family and friends being helpless and worried facing the flood.

Some things never seems to change on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

I was working when I got an IM from an old schoolmate and was highly surprised. His ID is a one that I see often enough on MSN list but I never really messaged because he hung the Busy/Away sign all the time to his name. As for how we keep in contact, we usually hang out once or twice a year mainly during Chinese New Year ( since there are no more term breaks for us aging ex-students ;3; )

Anyway, he had been my schoolmate for nearly all my secondary school. My very first and foremost memory of meeting him was of bickering and stupid argument and name callings. Those were the things that stuck between us ALL through the many years of our high school. ( and again, the years POST school, into our University years even though we went our separate ways )

The thing is, I’m quite sure he doesn’t hate me. Me neither. BUT! We have the affinity to get into really stupid arguments bickering JUST for bickering’s sake.

The conversation started :

Him : Hey Soh Po [ Hey, idiotic woman ]
Me : OH HELLO THAR, JERK.
Him : *more insults*
Me : *returns insults*
Him : *random news exchange/how are you + insults*
Me : *news exchange/I’m fine/You still alive? + insults*
Him : *bicker bicker*
Me : *bicker bicker*

.. And so on and forth ad infinitum.

Somehow, this leaves me with a tingly feeling that regardless of how people moved on and away from others, how different the skies we stand under changes it’s colours, how much time marches ever forward, there are silly and simple things in our lives that remains the same. And I hope and hope that all these stupid banters between two people whom had crossed path a little more than ten years back; will last as long as we breath.

( ..though it’s really hilarious to imagine both of us one day; old, pruney and missing our teeth continues to insult each others as how we did the first day we met )

Randomly, did I ever mentioned how much I love L’Arc~en~Ciel soon to be released new single - MY HEART DRAWS A DREAM? I did? Nevermind, you’re going to hear it all over again. I LURVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the song and I love it more everytime I listen to it. Durn you Laruku, release the promo-video already! ( the sad thing is that I can probably memorised every single word in the song before the actual single is released >_>; I’d been looping the radio rip for goodness know how many times already >_>; Okay, that was I lie, I can fathom a number since iTunes keep track but I refused to tell anyone )
