Down The Rabbit Hole

Oh look, I’m back after a long absence (2 months!). At first I was too busy moving out the blogs to a new server and all, and I didn’t want to touch the files just in case I lost a post here and there. Then things in my life gradually went downhill last month and killed my blogging mood. Now I think if I don’t come back and brush the cobwebs, this place will be permanently hidden in them forever, so, uh, spring cleaning time?

Anyway, my story starts near the beginning of last month. As you may or may not know, I work in Plaza Pekeliling, near PWTC. Last month, a flash flood struck those areas in KL, and my car ended up half-drowned because I couldn’t get it out of the basement carpark in time. As if that wasn’t distressing enough to deal with, when I walked down the stairs to the basement, I missed a step because it was drowned in muddy water. And because I was holding on to the railing, my arm twisted and I ended up spraining my wrist. My right wrist.

So I bet you’re thinking – yeah, that sucks big time. Take emergency/medical leave, go see a doctor about my wrist, and take a break for awhile, and I’ll be back on my feet! Right? Unfortunately, no. I was rushing work on a project at the time, and because I was the only person who could work on it, I was forced to go to work the next day. With the wrist of my working hand sprained so badly I couldn’t even hold the mouse if I wanted to.

I spent the next day working (very slowly) with my left hand.

March was also the month I finally received my confirmation letter (I’ve been there 8 months by then, my probation was 6 months). I opened my letter tentatively, thinking that perhaps that was the silver lining in the cloud for the month – in vain. I received a total amount of RM100 for my increment.

My car repair bills, on the other hand, costed me more then half my salary.

I just really could not express HOW close I was to killing my fellow man -_-
